  Ecom PPO Advisors’ beginnings date back to 1992, when L. Cade Havard discovered a problem in the healthcare industry. 

Cade, then a leader in the financial arena, learned that healthcare providers were not being paid in a timely fashion for the medical services they rendered. He began to investigate and discovered that much of the issue could be attributed to the laborious claims processing systems implemented by most payers at the time. As a result, he developed one of the first fully-integrated, automated claims workflow systems in the country. Cade’s former client, Wal-Mart, was the first company to embrace his vision.

This revolutionary approach not only increased claims processing efficiency, but also evaluated billions of claims dollars in an efficient, precise manner. This unprecedented technology resulted in Cade being awarded a patent pending on the algorithms used to evaluate the claims data.

Cade decided to take another bold step in order to fulfill this unmet need in the healthcare industry. In 1998, he built a business model around the Virtual PPO concept of total PPO administration, and Ecom was born. While developing this approach, Cade, now Chairman and CEO of Ecom, created a team of experienced healthcare and technology professionals.

First we determined together that purchasing PPO access based on deepest discounts failed to save companies the greatest amount of money possible. The company then developed an evaluation system to predict prospective clients’ savings. Next we created a workflow that simplified claims repricing and processing, ultimately adding even more savings to our clients’ bottom line.

Today, Ecom continues its tradition of leadership, and has become the only company of PPO network advisors who navigate payers through hundreds of PPO networks to pinpoint their one-of-a-kind “best fit” primary PPO grouping. In fact, our ground-breaking accomplishment to substantially minimize out-of-network claims or “white space” serves as yet another unmatched innovation in the industry. We also have excellent working relationships with more than 120 high-quality, top-tier PPOs, although we continue to function as an independently run company.
